Meet Lara - Your Certified Pediatric Sleep Specialist

I’m Lara, a certified pediatric sleep specialist trained by both the Institute of Pediatric Sleep & Parenting and the College of Montessori. I specialize in newborn, baby, and toddler sleep, and I’ve helped families across Europe, North America, and South Africa navigate everything from early wakeups to bedtime struggles.

As a mum of two young boys, I had my fair share of sleep challenges too. Turning our sleep situation around was life-changing — and after seeing how much sleep benefited all of us, I made it my life’s mission to help other families facing the same struggles.

My philosophy is simple: equip parents with the right knowledge and the right amount of support, so they can help their children thrive. I believe every parent is capable of this — no matter how much you know or how alone you may feel.

The methods I use have helped thousands of families around the world, and they’re not based on jumping straight into “sleep training.” I approach sleep like a house:

✔ The foundation: timing, nutrition, and stimulation (mental and physical)
✔ The rooms: sleep environment and sleep routine
✔ The walls: your child’s unique needs
✔ The roof: independent sleep
✔ The outside: your child’s world (family, culture, travel, school, daycare, life, etc.)

We might work on all of these — or just a few — depending on your child’s unique needs and your family’s goals. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just unsure what to try next, I’d love to help you find clarity and confidence.

What Parents Are Saying

Common Sleep Struggles You Don’t Have to Face Alone

  • 0–4 Months

Newborn sleep can feel like a mystery and it’s hard to know what’s “normal” when everything is new. Many parents feel unsure, but these early challenges are common and workable.

    Common challenges at this age:

    - Settling and calming
    - Day-night confusion
    - Contact-only naps
    - Difficulty falling asleep
    - Frequent night wakings
    - Short naps

You’re not doing it wrong. You just need clear, gentle guidance and support that adapts to your baby’s needs

  • 4–12 Months

This stage brings big changes and the 4-month sleep regression often catches parents off guard. Sleep can feel like a rollercoaster, but it doesn’t have to stay that way.

    Common challenges at this age:

    - Very early mornings
    - Multiple night wakings
    - Breastfeeding to sleep
    - Fighting sleep
    - Trouble settling by themselves
    - Short naps

You’re not alone in this. With the right support, your baby can learn to sleep more peacefully — and you can feel confident again.

  • 12-24 months

As toddlers become more independent and their needs change, what once worked may start to unravel. With the right knowledge and support, sleep is within reach.

    Common challenges at this age:

    - Resisting all naps or only one
    - Difficulty falling asleep at night
    - Very early mornings
    - Increased anxiety at bedtime
    - Nighttime wake-ups
    - Rocking/feeding to sleep

You have a strong-willed toddler, but with the right knowledge and support you can respond confidently despite the challenge.

  • 24-48 months

Toddlers at this age are bursting with independence, imagination, and emotion. While bedtime battles and fears are common, routines and boundaries can make a big difference.

    Common challenges at this age:

    - Bedtime resistance
    - Delay tactics
    - Nighttime fears
    - Skipping naps
    - Early waking
    - Big emotions at bedtime

Big emotions need big empathy. With the right knowledge and support, sleep can feel more manageable — for both of you.

“We reached out to Lara when my baby was 4 months old and struggling with both daytime naps and bedtime. It was an exhausting and overwhelming time for us as new parents, but Lara worked an absolute miracle.”
